Markham Village Writers: An Introduction
The Markham Village Writers’ Group was established in September of 1999, for adults with a passion for writing. Our members write mystery, romance, general fiction, creative non-fiction, children’s literature and poetry.
Our group mission: We inspire each other to write!
Each meeting begins with discussion of any writing-life news, but the bulk of our time is devoted to reading our work aloud. Keeping a spirit of encouragement in mind, feedback is expected to be constructive.
A commitment to reading aloud works well since it motivates all of us to take pause in our busy lives and devote time to our craft in between meetings.
It’s not enough to dream about writing; we must sit down and do it!
Meetings take place on the first Wednesday of every month from 7 pm to 9 pm at St. Andrews United Church, 32 Main Street (Hwy 48 just North of Hwy 7) in Markham Village. Driveway is on the West side of 48. (Please come in through the back door.) New writers are welcome.
